Character's Nicknames [if applicable]:
Jenni
Nationality/Heritage/Species:
British
Occupation:
Doctor
Sexuality:
Heterosexual
Description:
Jennifer has dark brown hair usually tied back out of the way with strands dangling forward to give herself a more natural look that suits her roundish face. She has piercingly blue eyes with light-toned skin; not being able to tan easily, during the summer months she usually has sunburn.
(Refer to signiture for a picture of her face and hair colour)
Tall and thin her body is more suited for running than fighting and she regularly exercises to keep up her physique, which is something she also does because of her time in the army where she was required to exercise regularly and be ready for battle at any given time.
Jenni has no piercings or tattoos and likes to wear rather plain clothes and colours, favouring trainers above all other shoes just because they're more practical and comfy.
Personality:
Jenni is very strong-willed and is quite a tough person to get through to because of it, she prefers to listen to her own reason and ignore others while having a tendency to get upset or angry with those who disagree with her. Other than this, Jenni is still a likeable, nice and kind person at heart who finds it easy enough to worm her way out of situations just by talking through it all and confusing people around her. In any situation she likes to do her research before going out and coming to different conclusions, which is why it's difficult to change her mind when she's come to a final conclusion.
Those that she treats for injuries and the like, she treats delicately and prefers to work alone when in stressful or fast-paced situations because it helps her to concentrate and work faster than usual, hen she likes to discuss things with her patients and talk to those who are watching.
Jenni is a skilled worker when it comes to patients and excelled through medical school with honours, she loves working hard and finds it exciting when chosen to go out into the field. At the same time though, she prefers not to be the one in charge so that she doesn't have to have the added stress and pressure of making decisions for other people to do.
Personal History:
Jennifer came from a quite violent background, with drug-addicted and alcohol abusing parents who prefered that she pay for everything. She worked hard to get excellent grades in school before she went on to medical university, where she passed quite quickly with honours and went on to become a doctor working for the armed forces. During her time in the armed forces she was sent to different countries in a war situation, where she was the head doctor and had to treat many different injuries including bullet wounds, poisoning, stab wounds and minor injuries and ilnesses that troops came down with.
She only stayed with the armed forces for a few years before moving on to become a civilian doctor. This was where she met the Torchwood institute for the first time, when people were randomly being attacked by different creatures unknown and their personel came to see the bodies of those that died in hospital. During that time, she managed to save quite a few of the dying, making sure that Torchwood had someone that they could question about the attacks.
Jenni then moved down to a hospital in Cardiff where she worked until picked up by Torchwood to work at one of their new facilities in London.
Scenario #1:
(Stting at a cafe, when a passer-by accidentally spills coffee all over their lap. What happens afterward?)
Jennifer was sitting in a cafe reading a newspaper on any news about the mysterious Torchwood that seemed to creep into her proffession so often when a man tripped on her table and spilt his coffee over her lap and brand new skirt. The man apologised to her profusely before trying to mop up the spill on her lap.
Jenni stands up before picking up his dropped cup and placing it on the table, "Look, sir, I appreciate that you're trying to clean it up and all but the damage has been done. The skirt was pretty new, but it was cheap so it's fine and the coffee wasn't so hot that it burnt me." She smiled at him till he calmed down. Turning her voice cold she glared at him, "You better watch your step next time."
Walking off, Jennifer folded her newspaper and picked up her bag before exiting, leaving a half-empty glass of milk behind.
Scenario #2:
(Your character is walking down the street on a normal day when a stranger approaches them and tells them that they know what Torchwood is and what it does. Your character brushes this off with feigned confusion and ignorance but the stranger persists to an almost unnerving degree. How does your character react?)
Jennifer tried to ignore the person talking about Torchwood over and over again, but she couldn't help but become curious about it. She had heard of them before and really wanted t know more about Torchwood, maybe she could even join them and work with them.
Pulling the stranger aside she stared at him, "What do you know? How do you know it? And why are you trying to tell me?"
The stranger pulled her closer to him till his mouth was just beside her ear, "You want to know don't you? The secret... You already know that they exist so I guess that's a start."
Jennifer became even more curious as they walked down a darkened alleyway where no one seemed to be walking, she didn't seem to mind though as her thoughts were on only one thing, only one name, "Torchwood, it can't exist, yet it does. An institution that no one's ever heard of."
The man smiled brightly, "Yes, that's it. What do you know?"
She snapped out of her daydreaming, "What do you mean? I thought you were going to give me information?"
"Yes yes, I just need you to tell me what you alreayd know, so I don't repeat myself..." The man fumbled with his old jacket collar and avoided looking into her eyes, "Need to know... otherwise I can't tell you."
Growing wary she looked around, no one was there, no one could see them, "I don't know anything."
The man looked sad before he pushed her violently against a wall, he brandished a knife close to her face, "Pretty girly, tell me what you know about them. Tell me now!"
Panicking slightly she lashed out and kicked him in the groin before diving out the way of his blade and running back down the alleyway; it was at times like these that she was glad she wore trainers with every outfit.
The man left her to run away as he held his crotch in his hands and moaned as the pain hit him.
