Character Name: Blaine Summers.
Character Gender: Male.
Character Age/Birth date: 24 / February 20th 1987
Character's Nicknames: N/A.
Nationality/Heritage/Species: Scottish, with a Scottish father and English mother.
Occupation: Torchwood 2 Field Agent/General Support.
Sexuality: Homosexual.
Description: Blaine is taller than average, but slim, with brown hair and dark eyes. He is good-looking, but he has no idea of this, and tends to accidentally accentuate this with his penchant for expensive bespoke suits. He doesn't smile often, instead adopting a neutral expression around people he doesn't know well, but around friends he grins a lot. He also chews gum whilst working, but not in company, as he considers it impolite.
PB: Andrew Garfield.
Personality: Due to his upbringing, Blaine highly values manners and politeness. Around strangers and people he doesn't know well, he is polite, but slightly shy, nervous he'll do something wrong. Around his friends however, he opens up. He is friendly, and good-natured, and has a mean streak of Bitchy Gay that unveils itself when he discusses his enemies. He is loyal to a fault, and always obeys orders from those higher-ranked than him, which can lead to personal struggles if he has to choose between following orders and helping a friend. He is also very much a child of the technology generation, and while he takes to research and planning using a computer like a duck to water, he will fare less well if he has to use a book or find something in an archive.
Personal History: Blaine was born to two professionals, a Scottish father who was in the military and an English mother who worked as a surgeon, in 1987. Growing up, he was schooled at a private school in Glasgow, and sent to his grandparents while his parents were working, staying in Glasgow afterschool but sent to the English countryside for a lot of the school holidays. Due to spending lots of time with an older generation he was taught etiquette and proper social conduct, and this coupled with isolation from others of his age-group shaoed his polite-but-cold demeanour towards strangers and acquaintances.
He excelled at school and university, and left university with a degree in law, but found himself at a loss what to do. However, whilst out one night wandering the streets, a chance encounter with an alien and Torchwood led to his recruitment as a field agent and general support worker.
Plot/Story ideas: Now that he's down on paper he sounds a little like Ianto, but I'll work to make him a distinct character seperate from him. Of course, these similarities would mean they could make good friends. His father's military ties could also lead somewhere interesting, and as I am a Glasgow resident I might be inspired by anything I see around the city.
Scenario #1: Blaine had ducked into the coffee shop for shelter from the torrential rain that was pounding the pavements outside. He ordered an Americano from the barista and made his way to an empty table by the window, shivering as he peeled off his raincoat. He fetched a broadsheet from the rack on the wall and settled down in a battered armchair.
Instinctively, he glanced up, giving him a momentary glance of the young girl with her coffee cup in one hand and her smartphone in the other before she walked into his table, and the coffee cup dropped into his lap and burst.
Hissing, he bit back a few choice insults, and stood up, attempting to swipe the boiling liquid off of his dress trousers before it did too much damage. “Crap, I am so sorry!” The girl exclaimed, grabbing a stack of napkins from a nearby stand and attempting to wipe some of her spilled drink from his lap. Blaine batted her away, a little uncomfortable with how personal she was getting with her wiping. “It’s really alright,” he promised her, wanting her to move away from him as soon as possible. “Seriously, everything’s fine. You didn’t mean it.” Although maybe you should put your phone down instead of blundering into people’s tables and possibly sterilising them. “I’m fine. On you go.”
“If you’re sure...” She said, nervously. Blaine further assured her and, satisfied, she walked away, attention back to her phone as she went to order another coffee. Sighing, Blaine put his coat back on, picked up his coffee from the counter, and left to find another coffee shop.

Scenario #2: TBC.
