He feel that all his actions are justified no matter what they might be. He holds on to grudges and is single minded in his desire for vengeance. He is very jealous and resentful of his older brother, who he also blames for the tortures he endured when he was abducted as a young child. Mercy is not a word he ever learned. He is incredibly intelligent, mechanically inclined and skilled in survival and gorilla style combat.
Personal History: Born on the Boeshane Penisula in the 51st century of the planet Earth, Gray is the younger brother of Captain Jack Harkness. The two have a 5 year age difference. Like his older brother he had a relatively normal childhood with two well functioning parents. When they were still a young boys their home was attached by evil alien beings. During the attack Gray was taken after Jack let go of Gray's hand and lost him in the chaos of the fleeing population.
Gray was then kept for an indeterminate amount of time, measured in years, by these aliens. He was held and tortured as a means of entertainment and delight for his captures. Growing into manhood in this manner caused Gray to become the mentally unstable person that he is today and has lead to the overwhelming certainty that everything that happened to him was Jack's fault. This idea has given birth to Gray's desire for revenge on his brother which he feels has now started to fall into place.
Several months ago he was found and rescued by Captain John Hart.
Scenario #1:
He hadn't even noticed at first, he had been busy looking around, taking everything in. This new world was so full of people. So busy, everyone rushing around for no apparent reason that he could see. They weren't being chased. They weren't being attacked. There was no imminent threat looming over them. They were safe, secure and happy in their little pointless existences. Yet they still rushed around like worker ants holding up the hive.
He hadn't even noticed until the girl's voice had invaded his thoughts and her slightly panicked face had swam back into focus before his eyes. As he watched her lips move and began to focus on the words leaving them he could feel the slight uncomfort of searing heat as it soaked through his pants. He looked down at the dark mark that was slowly creeping outward over his crotch and smiled, trying to imagine what it would look like as a stain against the yellow-brown of his pants.
When he looked up again she was reaching for napkins and still spilling words from her lips. It was worse than the liquid she'd spilled from her cup and it was hurting his ears. He cocked his head to the side slightly watching her body for a moment before reaching out and taking her fragile white neck in his hand and snapping it with a jerk of his wrist.
As he casually walked away he wondered how long it would take one of those busy little ants to notice the dead body sprawled out over the small metal table.
Scenario #2:
John had managed to disappear on him, not that it would last long. He would find the weasel again and this time he would take steps to ensure that the time agent did exactly what was asked of him. For now however he needed to take measures of his own to enact his plan of revenge against his beloved brother. He had used what he knew already to put out feelers and it hadn't taken long for those seeds to bare fruit.
When he arrived at the bar identified in the message he had found a slight blonde man, his green eyes framed by spectacles waiting nervously in a corner booth. He had known it was his contact by the way the man kept looking around as if he weren't sure what he was looking for.
Gray smiled stiffly as he sat across from the man and nodded when inquired as to whether he was Gray. The man heaved a sigh and his eyes stopped flickering around the establishment.
"Tell me what you know." Gray's demand was hidden behind the soft monotone of a request.
After yet more quick glances, the man leaned in over the table toward Gray and began to speak about Torchwood, the people that worked for the agency and finally their leader.
"He's responsible for my sisters death, and a lot of others. I don't have any hard proof yet but they, HE needs to be stopped." he finished finally.
Gray sat back a little more deeply into the stuff back of booth as he slid the device across the table to his companion. "Trust me when I tell you, he will pay for every one of his sins."
