Character Name: Ianto Jones
Character Gender: Male
Character Age/Birthdate [if unknown, make it up appropriately]: 19/08/1983
Character's Nicknames [if applicable]: 'Yan.
Nationality/Heritage/Species: Welsh/Human.
Occupation: General support officer for Torchwood 3.
Sexuality: Bisexual.
Personality [include strengths and weaknesses. Detail required]: Ianto features as a very private person with a taste for formality and neatness. His dry humor adds an ounce of snark to his smooth exterior and more often than not, his secrecy shows as a prominent weakness. Burying his emotions deep down is not uncommon for Ianto, and he likes to keep it that way. It's hard for him to open up except to the ones that he loves, and even then it's a difficult task.
Although considered merely the 'office boy', his steadfast loyalty is obvious and his resourcefulness often keeps the Torchwood team organised and together. He's not one to be underestimated, either; given the chance and opportunity he has to the potential to be surprising. Not to mention that he makes amazing coffee. Orgasmic, really (or so Jack would think).
Personal History [if known, brief outline]: Originally based at Torchwood One, Ianto held a position as a researcher. After the battle of Canary Wharf, during which girlfriend Lisa Hallett was partially converted by the Cybermen, he sought out Torchwood Three and convinced Captain Jack Harkness to give him a job there. After landing the job, Ianto moved Lisa into the basement of the Hub until he could find a 'cure' for her partially converted state. Canon knows all the rest. A conversation between Ianto and Jack indicated that Ianto had average marks whilst attending school and had a minor conviction for shoplifting, implying that his clean facade had not always been that way.
Scenario #1 [response must be 150+ words. Be creative.]:
Ianto was probably more embarrassed than the nervous, stuttering waitress in front of him was. He quickly waved away her fast-paced apologies (which all sounded the same, at any rate) with a tiny smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. He hadn't been having the best day -- and now this. It seemed that the universe quite disliked giving him a break. Or the Rift. Or both. He exhaled in a sigh as he reached across the table to tug a tissue delicately out of the tissue holder, and mopped up the substance seeping through his pants with it.
"It's quite alright, really," he informed the terrified waitress once more. "Just a mistake."
She nodded furiously and almost fled back to the counter.
Ianto's mind wandered away from the discomfort. It was all these little things that added up to the weariness that he felt at the end of the day. The weariness which would, by no accounts, disappear when he woke up in the morning if only because he never seemed to keep his eyes shut for more than four hours a night.
Scenario #2 [response must be 150+ words. Be creative and detailed.]:
On the outside, Ianto was calm. Perfectly calm. Dead calm. But really, his suit was starting to feel a little too tight and his stomach was a tiny bit nervous as the man plagued him with shouting and questions and requests for answers and God... He was going to go back to the Hub, track this man down, and put him in a straitjacket down in the vaults if it was the last thing he would do.
"Really, sir, I r-really do not know what you happen to be talking about. Could you kindly tone it down? You're creating a scene." He added in faked (or maybe not so much) nervousness for effect.
The man scowled at him and continued verbally prodding. Ianto felt like his head was going to split in two sometime in the next ten minutes.
What were his options? It would be quite anticlimatic if he called the team out all the way out here just for this, but if he walked away the man would only follow him; the Plass was within walking distance and not at all far away. Ianto decided to go back to the tourist office and kindly tell the man to shove off - and maybe administer a thorough amount of Retcon.
