"Tosh, run Samantha through the computer and see if there's anything new on the Jackfinder."
Jackfinder. That didn't sound good. Maybe Jack wasn't just not here at the moment. What if he was really gone? Curiouser and curiouser. Her focus was still on getting home, of course, but she couldn't help but be intrigued as well as worried.
Gwen hung up the phone and said, "standard procedure, you understand."
Samantha shrugged. It was no skin off her nose. She'd have done the same thing, and it wasn't like they'd find anything. After all, she hadn't even been born yet. She had nothing to hide.
"It's fine. I'd do the same thing. You've got to make sure."
“Coffee, ladies?” he said, placing the tray down spilling one-fourth of the coffee. So, he made a bad Tea boy. He gave the new lady a smile. “So did how did the girl talk go?”
Sam rolled eyes, but she did take a mug of coffee, making a face as took a sip. She'd certainly had better. "I'm sorry, but...ah...I've got to ask. Jack's not just running late or taking a day off, is he?"

Tosh was just grabbing her ear piece, when her phone rang. Glancing at the monitor, she knew it was Gwen and answered on the first ring.
"Yeah, Gwen?"
"Tosh, run Samantha through the computer and see if there's anything new on the Jackfinder."
Tosh immediately got onto her computer and started to get to work. The "Jackfinder", as Gwen had named it, ran 24-7. She had it set up to alert her by phone and text the moment anything popped up. So far, there hadn't been anything real, but she remained hopeful. Jack couldn't have abandoned them forever.
“Tosh, I am going to bring them coffee,” he said, going to a draw, pulling out a recon. “I wonder I bang her after giving her the recon?” he had said it to irritate Tosh, but he was not kidding. The thought was there. “Oh, I forgot Tosh you were there,” there was the psychology hit for Tosh.
Tosh's fingers paused over the keyboard for a moment, frozen. She hated him in that moment, and hated herself for letting that hurt her. Why did she torture herself like this? Owen had he's moments of humanity, but sometimes...god, he could be so cruel. She wished she could just get over him once and for all.
She didn't say anything, just lowered her head and got to work. She pulled up the facial recognition database, plugging the security feed of Samantha into it, as well as running a name search.

Gwen smiled after hanging up with Tosh, she knew if there was anything to find, Tosh would find it. They walked the fine line of having all the time in the world and having no time whatsoever.
Owen walked into the room with coffee, and her first instinct was "Owen's coffee, yuck!" and "here we go again with the 'charm' (more like smarm)"
"I'm sorry, but...ah...I've got to ask. Jack's not just running late or taking a day off, is he?"
Gwen turned her head back to Samantha and shook her head. "That's kind of what I meant when he wasn't here. We've been searching and following leads, but the man defines, and defies, the search. He taught us how to look, so it stands to reason he knows how to avoid those methods."
She took one look at her coffee and debated whether or not it was safe. She decided not. "I wouldn't drink that if I were you, let's just say Owen and coffee making are not said lightly in the same sentence," she said to Samantha.
Then she had an idea. "Say you wouldn't have any ideas on where to look, would you? A new set of eyes might just be the thing."
Gwen knew that she shouldn't have said anything just yet, but she also knew that as good as Tosh was, the search was going to be inconclusive at the very best. And they really could use the help.

I’m sorry, but…ah…I’ve got to ask, Jack’s not just running late or taking a day off, is he? The stranger lady asked.
That’s kind of what I meant when he wasn’t here. We’ve been searching and following leads, but the man defines, and defines, the search. He taught us how to look, so it stands to reason he knows how to avoid those methods.
Gwen took a coffee and made a comment to the other. Owen glared his dark eyes at her. It seemed Gwen was playing leader and really laying down the butter on the bread.
May you wouldn’t have any ideas on where to look, would you? A new set of eyes might just be the thing.
Crossing his arms, and rolling his eyes, Owen could not believe Gwen was asking a stranger for suggestions.
He was mad at Gwen. He could accidently spill the coffee on Gwen. He could give her a burn.

Sam set down her coffee cup with a frown. It was a shame Liam wasn't here. He'd been an expert on Torchwood history. Sam didn't even remember ever hearing about Harkness disappearing. Of course, even if she had, even if she knew exactly where to look, she wasn't sure she'd be able to tell Gwen. She had to be careful of not messing up the timeline. She probably shouldn't have even come here, but she was willing to risk it in order to get home. Then again, if she was asking them for a favor, she could hardly refuse to help them.
Sam ran a hand through her hair, considering. "I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions, but I'd be more than willing to help you look for him. "How long as he been missing, anyway?"

Tosh kept one eye on the footage from the information center as she search for this Wells woman. Owen didn't look happy to be on coffee duty. Tosh understood he felt slighted, but after what he'd said to her earlier, she had to admit she felt a certain amount of pleasure from it.
She heard Gwen ask for help finding Jack, shaking her head slightly. Gwen must be pretty desperate if she were asking strangers for help. But Tosh couldn't blame her. She was worried about Jack too, and everyday that went by, she grew more and more convinced that he wasn't ever coming back. They were getting by for now, but Tosh didn't know how they'd be long term. The team was good, and they could handle a lot, but Gwen and Owen were fighting more and more these days, and if they couldn't even be in the same room together, how could they protect anyone from outside attacks?
The results of her computer search popped up, and she pressed the button on her ear piece. "Gwen, Owen, I've got nothing on Samantha Wells. It's a common enough name, but nothing that matches the woman you're talking to. And facial recognition didn't find anything."

ooc I waited a certain amount on days. Sorry I skip you Gwen dear Sam set down her coffee cup with a frown
Sam had tried his coffee. She seem she didn’t like it one bit. That wasn’t the point. He wasn’t trying to win anyone’s heart with a cup of coffee. That was Ianto’s duty. Owen was good saving lives. Ianto had not one skill to do that.
Crossing his arms, Owen heard Tosh. ‘this was dandy, bobbin’ fun’ he thought. Not waiting for Gwen, Owen took two steps to block the exit. There was no way he trusted the woman who was seeking Jack Harkness.
“Who are you really?” he asked. “Nobody shows up, knocks on our door and say ‘Hey where is your leader?’” he was pulling his gun out from the back. “Gwen,” Owen gave her a look that said, don’t you dare tell me put my gun away. “And WE do not have to tell you when he left us…” he glared at her.
Turning his eyes back on Samantha, “Well. WHO ARE YOU!?” he was asking both woman, but pointing his gun at Samantha. He was only protecting the team.

Gwen stood a little shocked at Owen. Then it wore off, and she realized how stupid she must have sounded for even suggesting it. She also knew there wasn't any choice. Even with a gun pointed at the stranger.
"Owen, please. I know I sound bonkers, but I am not sure what choice we have. Please put the gun down. I think we can do this without Sam coming inside."
Gwen stepped up to Owen and pleaded with her eyes. "Please, put the gun down. We can do this." Gwen whispered and put her hand on his arm, pressing down, hoping he would holster his gun. His eyes said no, but this was not the answer.
Gwen put her other hand up to her ear piece. "Tosh, can you hear me? Would you kindly join us up here? If you can find Ianto, that would be brilliant. I think we should all talk at the cafe around the corner. We may need Sam, and this might be our best option."
She turned first to Sam and then Owen, and the request was really for him, "How does that sound? We sit down for tea at a neutral area and get to the bottom of this."

Sam stared levelly at Owen. She wasn't surprised, exactly. It was more that she had expected it to come earlier. She had started to let herself believe that this might all actually go smoothly and that they'd avoid weapons entirely. She hand wavered over her holster. She was a wicked-quick draw, but Owen already had his pointed at her, and she was outnumbered.
Never taking her eyes off Owen, she nodded slightly in Gwen's direction. "Talking sounds fine by me," she said dryly. Having a temper herself, she should have cut Owen some slack, but she really hated having guns pointed at her.

"Damnit Owen," Tosh swore out-loud as she watched the events unfolding on the cameras. He was always so aggressive. He had a point that they shouldn't immediately trust someone who turned up out of nowhere and started asking for Jack. But waving around guns wasn't going to help things.
"On my way," Tosh replied to Gwen. She hoped that Gwen would be able to calm Owen down enough to see reason. But in case things didn't go that way, she made sure she had her gun on her before she headed to join the rest of her team.

Holding his stare at Gwen, Owen pointed his gun to the floor. He tucked the gun in the back of his waist band. His dark brown eyes was on Samantha. He decided to let Gwen do the talking.
Crossing his arms across his chest as Toshiko appeared but there was no Ianto. Man they could use Ianto for his expertise. Where was Ianto? They are a man short. He thought Ianto would want to be in tourist section because it was about Jack. Ianto maybe was visiting his sister. It must be nice to have family to visit. Owen was the only one who did not have a family member to visit or a loved one. Gwen had her Welshman. Ianto had his sister, and nephew and niece. Toshiko had her mother. Jack, he does not count because he went AWOL with his stupid Doctor. Maybe his Doctor fixed Jack and died.
ooc sorry for short reply.

Gwen smiled at Tosh, then immediately frowned at the knowledge that Ianto was not there. She was going to have a very stern talk with him, but now was not the time to deal with it.
She turned to Sam and said, "Excuse us just for one second." Gwen took both Owen, who had thankfully put his gun away and, and Tosh by the elbows and lead them into the furthest corner away from Sam as the tiny office would allow.
Gwen started in a whisper, "Look, before either of you say anything, I know I made a mess of things when I asked Sam for help. The only reason was because we were already talking in circles and getting nowhere and one of us would have to blink. I am not sure what our choices are. But, the diner will let us keep the Hub a secret for a bit longer, plus, tea might calm us down."
Gwen turned back to Sam and said, "Right, well follow us, the diner is just around the corner and hopefully we can something done about this." She gestured for everyone to go through the door while taking out the keys to lock it. She also pulled out her phone and texted Ianto their location in case he got back and couldn't find them.
Gwen locked the door behind her and lead the way to the diner, making sure that Owen was with her so she could keep an eye on him.
